The Night Shift Lateral Sleep Device is a mask-free positional therapy option for people whose snoring or obstructive sleep apnoea is worse when sleeping on their back.

Worn around the neck, or on the chest with the optional chest belt, NightShift gently vibrates when you roll onto your back, encouraging you to move onto your side and helping reduce time spent in the supine position.

For suitable patients, NightShift may support side sleeping and can be used as an alternative or addition to other sleep therapy options, depending on clinical guidance.

Introducing NightShift Lateral Sleep Positioner

NightShift is a compact, rechargeable sleep position device designed for people with positional snoring or positional obstructive sleep apnoea.

While you sleep, the device monitors your body position. When it detects that you’ve rolled onto your back, it delivers gentle vibrational feedback to encourage a change in position.

It’s simple to use, travel-friendly and designed to make positional therapy feel less intrusive.

NightShift is not intended for every type of sleep apnoea. If your OSA is moderate, severe or not mainly position-related, CPAP or another treatment may still be recommended.

How does NightShift work?

NightShift is worn around the neck or chest while you sleep.

If you roll onto your back, the device begins to vibrate gently. The vibration gradually increases until you move into a side-sleeping position. You can also choose immediate therapy or set a 15-minute delay.

If you’re unsure whether NightShift is right for you, speak with your sleep physician, GP or the Sleep Healthcare team before changing your current therapy.

FAQs

What is positional obstructive sleep apnoea?

Positional obstructive sleep apnoea occurs when breathing events are worse while sleeping on your back. A sleep study can help confirm whether your sleep apnoea is positional.

NightShift monitors your sleep position and gently vibrates when you roll onto your back. The vibration encourages you to move onto your side, helping reduce time spent back-sleeping.

For some people with positional obstructive sleep apnoea, NightShift may be recommended as an alternative or addition to CPAP. For others, especially those with moderate, severe or non-positional OSA, CPAP may still be the preferred treatment.

A sleep study is strongly recommended if sleep apnoea is suspected. It helps show whether your symptoms are positional and whether a device like NightShift may be suitable.

In some cases, yes. Positional therapy may be used alongside CPAP or other treatments if recommended by your sleep physician or clinician.

NightShift is compact and can be worn around the neck or on the chest with the optional chest belt. Some people may need a few nights to get used to the sensation of the vibration prompts.

NightShift is not suitable for everyone. If you have moderate or severe OSA, non-positional OSA, certain medical conditions, implanted devices, or neck or back concerns, speak with your doctor or sleep clinician before use.
